Peewee AE, U13 (formerly Peewee), 2010-2011 (Essex Minor Hockey)

Written by Karen Maisonneuve.  Thursday evening our boys experienced playing in the “Bowl” (home ice of the 2 time Memorial Cup Champion Windsor Spitfires) at the WFCU Centre against the Windsor Junior Spitfires in the Bluewater League Semi-finals.            With Brendan Quimby and Josh Scratch on the injured list, we called up Andrew Lachine, once again.

Written by Karen Maisonneuve.  With our backs against the wall, our boys set their sights on making the Bluewater Playoffs. Thursday night we were home to Tecumseh.  Our boys started off slow and Tecumseh was able to capitalize on it with 2 goals even though the play was in their end for the majority of the period.

Written by Karen Maisonneuve.  It’s been a busy week in the Bluewater League for our boys.  The top 4 teams in our league make the playoffs and we are currently in 5th.  Our first game was Tuesday against the league’s undefeated team, The Windsor Junior Spitfires. 

Written by Karen Maisonneuve.  Wednesday evening we headed over to the Forest Glade arena to battle the Windsor Junior Spitfires.  With several players missing, our boys were faced with plenty of ice time.  The 1st period was full of end to end action with both goalies keeping busy.  With just 35 seconds left in the period, Windsor was able to slip one by our goalie, Kam Quinlan.  The period ended with us down by one.

Written by Karen Maisonneuve.  Wednesday evening we headed over to the Sherk Centre to face-off against the Southpoint Capitals for some Bluewater action.  Both Jonathan Chippett and Kam Quinlan shared goaltending duties in this game.             In the 1st, our boys looked strong from the beginning.  Brett Schmidt put us on the board first with a goal assisted by Kevin Dame.  The period ended 1-0.
