EMHA encourages everyone to register online.

However there will be two in-person registration dates for parents that are unable to complete the registration online:         Sunday June 26, 2022 and Sunday August 14, 2022

NEW PLAYERS

Parents of new players MUST contact the Registrar ([email protected]) prior to paying online as the registrar must create the players profile in the registration system first.  The registrar will email you a registration form that needs to be completed in full and emailed back to the registrar with a copy of the players birth certificate or passport.  Once the profile is created, you will be notified to complete the Respect in Sport Parent Program (see details below) and complete registration payment.

RESPECT IN SPORT

The Respect in Sport Parent Program is a mandatory requirement by OMHA and MUST be completed by September 1, 2022.  No player will be permitted on the ice until the program is completed.  If you previously completed this program, it is still valid and will show up under certifications in the registration system.  Please complete the program by following this link:

BEGINNERS PROGRAM

This program will be open to first time players in birth year 2018 only.  The program will be capped at 30 participants and will include 1 skate per week for 24 weeks with a power skating instructor.  There will be a wait list once the limit is reached.  Registration for this program MUST BE DONE MANUALLY by contacting the registrar ([email protected]).

MULTIPLE PLAYERS

If you are registering 3 or more participants, please register the first 2 players through the online registration system and then contact the registrar ([email protected]) to determine your family discount and register additional players.

TRAVEL TRYOUTS

Tryouts for Representative ‘A’ teams will begin September 24, 2022.   

Tryouts for Representative ‘BB’ teams will begin after ‘A’ tryouts are completed.

If your child will be trying out for the travel team, please also pay the tryout fee at time of registration to ensure your child is on the tryout list.

PLEASE NOTE:  Those players trying out for AAA and/or AA teams will not be required to register with Essex before those tryouts begin.  If the player is released from AAA and/or AA, the player will be required to register and pay the tryout fee for EMHA before attending ‘A’ tryouts in Essex.

REFUND POLICY

Refunds will be prorated based on the number of weeks played up to December 23, 2022 after which time there will be no refund offered.  All refunds will be subject to a $50 administrative fee.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

For families in need of financial assistance registration MUST be done manually by contacting the registrar ([email protected]).  Financial assistance may be available through the Pathway to Potential (P2P) program and applicants are to read and understand the guidelines and contact the Town of Essex before registering your player(s).

1.       All participants MUST provide proof of verification issued from the Town of Essex with an expiration of July 31, 2023.

2.       All participants MUST be taking part in an activity that takes place in a Town of Essex facility.

3.       All verifications will be processed at the Essex Recreation Complex (242 Talbot St N – attached to EDHS).  Call 519-776-8992 for more information.

4.       Verification forms will be valid until July 31, 2023 or until funding is exhausted.

5.       A verification form is NOT proof of residency in the Town of Essex.  Non-residents may be verified through our office for other purposes

OMHA VACCINATION POLICY

The Ontario Hockey Federation and OMHA announced the removal of the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for the 2022-23 season. They still strongly encourage participants to be vaccinated and will continue to follow the direction of the Government of Ontario’s Public Health guidelines.  As we’ve seen over the last two seasons, this comes with an understanding that this guidance may change over the coming months as COVID-19 evolves.  Any changes to these requirements will be communicated to our membership.
