Peewee Minor, 2015-2016, Trav (Essex Minor Hockey)

The Pee Wee Minors were victorious Friday night, defeating Owen Sound in three straight games. The team put on a great show in front of a huge crowd and were able to finish off the semi-final series. They have worked hard to earn their spot in the OMHA finals.  They will play either Whitby or Barrie in a battle for the championship. The series will start this coming weekend and the schedule should be announced early in the week. The Pee Wee Minors sealed the deal this weekend in the quarter finals against Welland. After splitting the first two games the first weekend up in Welland the Ravens came back to Essex and did the same. After re-grouping and hitting the highway for game five on Sunday they defeated Welland 3-0 and advanced to the OMHA semi-finals against Owen Sound! The series will start this coming weekend on the road and game three and four will be back here in Essex the following weekend! Hard work pays off!  Go Ravens!!!

The Ravens faced an unknown St. Thomas team that they had not played or seen all year. It was clear to all of the coaches right away that St. Thomas was a hard skating and well positioned team. The Ravens ended up sweeping the series with scores of 3-1, 3-0 and 3-2 respectively. Great job kids and let's keep it going in the quarter finals against Welland! Go Ravens!

The Pee Wee Minors have advanced into the second round of playdowns! The first place Ravens opened up their playdowns versus a very fast and physical Amherstburg team.  This team seemed to give the Ravens trouble all year! Amherstburg came out strong and ended up winning the first two games with scores of 3-1 and 3-2 (in OT). Quickly the Ravens found themselves down 4 points to 0 in the 6 point series. With their backs against the wall, the Ravens proved why they are a first place team by dominating the next three games and out scoring their opponents 13-3! The coaching staff could not ...

The final roster has now been posted.  All of the coaches would like to thank every kid for trying out.  You ALL made it very difficult for us as coaches to finalize our roster.  You should all be very proud and the future for this age group looks very promising!  If you are not on the list, please feel free to call me anytime and I will gladly explain the evaluation process.
