4.      4. What is the travel tryout fee for and do I need to pay that fee on top of the registration fee?

The travel tryout fee should only be paid if your child intends to tryout for a travel team.  Travel teams will be available for U9 through U21.  There will not be a travel team for children U8 and under.  Travel teams for U14 – U16 already paid the tryout fee in the spring and do not have to pay this fee again.

5.      5. Do I have to register my child now if they are trying out for AAA or AA?

We will be asking those that obtain a permission to skate or NRP card to complete a paper registration form but no payment will be required at that time.  If your child returns to Essex, you can register online and pay at that time and the late fee will be waived.

6.      6. Is there going to be a U21 travel team?

Essex-Southpoint fully intends to run a U21 travel team but that will depend on registration numbers.  If you are interested in playing please contact the registrar at [email protected]

7.      7. How do I obtain my credit for ice time lost due to COVID in January 2022?

If your child played on a travel team for the 2021/22 season, the credit was included in the travel team reconciliation at the end of the season.  If your child played local league, an ice credit was added to their profile in HCR.  Please apply this credit to your registration for 2022/23 prior to paying.  If you’ve already registered and didn’t apply the credit, or do not intend on playing hockey in Essex for the upcoming season, please contact the registrar to request a refund by cheque ([email protected])
