Essex Midget Minors take home Earlybird Cup
Congratulations to our Midget Minor team who took home the Essex Earlybird Tournament cup in a thrilling overtime victory against the Sarnia Jr. Sting.

It was an exciting weekend of hockey at Essex Arena with the EMHA hosting the Early Bird Tournament.

Essex Ravens Midget Minors capitalized in round robin games against Amherstburg, Erie North Shore and Riverside to gain a spot in the final against Sarnia on Sunday night.  Having lost to Sarnia in the round robin the team knew it was going to be a great battle.

Sarnia started out strong with a quit goal but the Essex Ravens worked hard.  At the end of the third period they were even 2-2..  With a great effort by every team member the Essex Ravens clinched the win in overtime beating Sarnia 3-2!!!!!

Congratulations to the entire Midget Minor team, Kyle Hill, Josh Myers, James Brooks, Paul Brouwer, Gerard Busko, Danielle Dent, Jordan Hooker, Matthew Hyland, Jeff Miller, Derek Morris, Quinton O’Brien, Deen Oozeer, Dane Pareira, Brett Rickeard, Jarret Rogers, Mitchael Salter, David Stafford, William Wuerch.  Thank you and congratulations to the coaching staff Dave Morris, Justin Dickson, Terry Teskey, Don Mouck and Ryan Dickson and our sponsor Hagar Optometry.

The midget minor team would like to thank the tournament organizers and EMHA for their efforts this weekend.  Great Job!!!
